I thought I would share some of the things my girls have discovered this past week, especially since we have many of our family members that don't live close to us anymore.
At our school they have an after school program that is pretty amazing. They run for about 6 weeks and meet twice a week. The girls love the choices and they always seem to find ones that define who they are. Alexa has chosen "Digging Dinosaurs" this time as one of the 4 classes she is taking. The best part was she came home one day last week with her fossils. She thought these were the best and had to share them the minute she got home. We read the paper that went with it, they were trilopods--a lot like rollie pollies. Anyway, when we were done she looks straight at me and asks "Momma, how can I be a sea world trainer and a dinosaur digger? I can't be in the ocean and the mountians at the same time." I explained to her that this was true but that maybe she could do both by splitting her days up. She said, "Yeah, I can dig for dinosaurs as I swim with Shamu". I had to giggle. I love that she has such the imagination to make anything work out. Of course, she also wants to be a cow girl---I guess they will need to make jeans waterproof. :)
Cora is still loosing teeth. At the beginning of this week Cora lost a tooth. She is one of those that remembers that night to put it under her pillow, unlike her sister that will forget for a week until I remind her and help her put it under her pillow. I will finish this story later. Anyway, most of you know that Cora is 8 but very naive. In our house I have always believed that having the girls believe in Santa, the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, etc. is OK and when they finally want to know the truth they will ask and we can talk about it. In my hearts of heart the spirit of all of these are still held close to me. So, Cora still believes and with this comes some very funny moments. A couple of weeks ago I was cleaning out some cupboards in the garage and came upon some trash from Christmas, i.e Alexa's castle box and Cora's guitar boxes which were the gifts Santa gave them. We take them out of the boxes and set them up for them to see when they come downstairs on Christmas Day. Well, I took these boxes out of the cupboard and put them on the treadmill to throw away later. Yep, you guessed it I left them there for all to see and of course Cora noticed them. Her answer to this dilemma------"Mommy, Santa must of left those boxes here when he was unpacking our gifts. I guess we need to throw them away for him." Good old me just said Yep! and left it at that. Oh wait there's more. Back to the teeth, Cora put it under her pillow and woke up with the tooth still under there, Mommy forgot--oops. Her reason for no money---the tooth fairy must have been in a storm and couldn't make it. I agreed like a good mommy and told her to put it under her pillow the next night and I was sure the tooth fairy would come. As it so happens the tooth fairy forgot again---dumb mommy. So, this time Cora looks at me with a puzzled expression and asks why she forgot. Before I could even answer she answered for me, thank goodness. She said, "It's Daddy's fault. He stayed up way too late talking to Papa Akes and so the tooth fairy was too scared to get into our house." As a mommy should, I readily agreed that it was all Daddy's fault. The third night came and I was NOT going to forget this time. Luckily, the tooth fairy didn't either.
I hope we all remember to make discoveries with our children on a daily basis. It's the best time to watch your children light up when they discover something new! I love it.
Oh by the way Kenzie has found that reading books is not so great but eating them is better. My computer won't let me put up pics right now so I will add them in later.

I miss your girls! Cora is so hilarious, I could just hear all of her reasoning. Too much fun. By the way I don't think the cards are going to happen, I am trying my best but I have been hit with SOOO many crappy things that I need to be realistic. Sorry I am such a loser! BTW I love that you have a background designed by one of my cousins! They will be happy to know others are finding their website.
